The Ghats of Kashi
Kashi Diaries is a series of blogs that document TravMories amazing, fun-filled group travel experiences in Kashi. These blogs have been designed to give you a fair idea about where we stayed, what we did, what we ate, how we traveled within and outside the cities, and also a bit about how we enjoyed the city.
Through these blogs, we hope to help you experience the magic of Kashi through the lens of TravMories.
So, without further ado, let’s begin with:
How We Planned Our Trip
The vibrant city of Kashi was the last leg of our five-day spiritual sojourn, which began from Ayodhya.
Kashi, we must say, was the most exciting part of our journey, as we spent most of our trip in this ancient land and savored every moment of it.
“Kashi is my home away from home.
It feels like I have some special connection with this place. Every visit has something new to offer –
new experiences, new questions, new answers… every visit seems like a revelation.”
~ Nayan Shah
Now, let’s see how it all began
The plan for our Kashi trip began to take shape when we heard about the Maha Kumbh Mela to be held around April/May 2025 in Prayagraj.
The Maha Kumbh Mela is a major Hindu pilgrimage or gathering that involves taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, for deep spiritual cleansing.
Since Kashi is just 122 km from Prayagraj, it was a destination we certainly wanted to visit during this trip. Moreover, seeking Kashi Vishwanath’s blessings after a sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam seemed to be the right thing to do.
After giving it some thought, we finalized three destinations and started working on the finer details of the trip. To our delight, as our plan took shape, our group size also increased from 4 to 12 people; the perfect size for a masti-filled group tour!
Keeping in mind every small detail, we created a solid final trip itinerary that included a majority of the main attractions in and around our three main destinations.
Here’s what our final trip itinerary looked like:
As mentioned earlier, these blogs are TravMories’ Kashi experience windows. However, before we start with our experiences, let us introduce you to Kashi as a city, its history, and why it is one of the most revered cities in India. This is a topic we shall cover in detail in our next blog.
